The New Jeep Gladiator is Getting Rave Reviews from Richfield Drivers

Excitement built as the Jeep brand announced it was putting a mid-sized pickup truck on the market for 2019. The new Gladiator didn’t disappoint. Its combination of looks, performance and the truck's prestigious “Trail Rated” designation, the Gladiator has been a much sought after machine around Sevier.

Engine & Performance

It begins under the hood, where the Jeep brand has engineered a 3.6L V6 engine as its power plant. Coupled with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed 850 RE automatic transmission, the Gladiator has a towing capacity that is best in class, nearly two tons.

The eight-speed automatic transmission has been geared toward off-road adventure, automatically adjusting engine speed and braking to meet the conditions. With a specially tuned, heavy-duty suspension, the Gladiator has a payload capacity of over 1500 lbs. The Trail Rail™ System provides a configurable arrangement of tie-down positions to meet varying payload shapes and sizes. When towing, the Trailer Brake can operate trailer brakes for additional control and safety as you drive around Ephraim and Gunnison. The bed even comes with a 110V AC outlet to operate electric machinery.

Interior Features

In the interior, the designers of the Gladiator haven’t forgotten about passenger comfort. There are small conveniences, like the leather wrapped steering wheel, brake handle, shifter knob and illuminated cup holders. But the bigger features come to the forefront when climbing inside.

The two-row cab has room for five passengers to sit comfortably. Seats can come in perforated leather for both warmth and body air flow. The driver seat comes with a two-way adjustable lumbar support and the passenger seat has four-way adjustments. 60/40 fold down rear seating adds extra cargo space to the interior.

The dash comes standard with a five-inch Uconnect infotainment system that can be upgraded to an eight-inch screen. The audio system comes standard with eight speakers throughout the cab, with an Alpine Premium system as an option.
